At Skills Development Scotland, I led research into emerging trends in digitally enabled learning, providing strategic insights for Scotland’s national skills agency. This project combined user research, expert interviews, and visual mapping to inform future digital education initiatives.
The Project:
As digital technology rapidly reshaped learning environments, the agency needed a clearer understanding of upcoming trends in digital education. The challenge was to identify these trends early, assess their potential impact, and present findings in a way that could guide strategic planning.
Challenge:
I designed and executed a comprehensive research strategy:
Expert Interviews: Conducted interviews with industry leaders, educators, and digital learning specialists to gather diverse perspectives.
Trend Mapping: Synthesised findings into visual maps to illustrate emerging trends and their interconnections.
Strategic Insights: Presented actionable recommendations to senior management, influencing the agency's approach to digital learning.
Approach:
The research provided a forward-looking view of digitally enabled learning, equipping decision-makers with the insights needed to adapt strategies and policies. The visual trend maps became key tools for internal discussions and long-term planning.
